How to setup email accounts for:
Thunderbird 3.xx:
- Open Thunderbird
- Click on the Tools menu, then, click Account Settings.
- At the bottom left, click Account Actions, and then choose Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, as you would like it to appear in the Your Name field.
- Enter your email address in the Email Address field.
- Enter your Account Password, and if you would like Thunderbird to remember it, click the box next to Remember password.
- Click Continue.
- Thunderbird will now automatically configure the incoming and outgoing server settings during this next step.
- On the right side of that screen, click the Stop button.
- Next to the Incoming server name, choose POP, and then select Manual Setup, which is located at the bottom left.
- In the Account Settings screen, your account name will be on the left. Under the name, click on Server Settings. If there is a plus sign next to it, click on it to expand that section, then click on Server Settings.
- The right side of the screen will now display the Server Settings.
- The server name is mail.qis.net
- The Username should be the first part of your email address without "@qis.net".
- At the bottom left of the Account Settings screen, click on Outgoing Server (SMTP).
- On the right side of the Account Settings screen, click the "Add" button. Complete the fields so that they appear as follows:
- Description: mail.qis.net.
- Server Name: mail.qis.net.
- Port: 587.
- Authentication method: Normal Password
- User Name: enter the first part of your email address without the "@qis.net".
- Click OK
- In the Account Settings window, click the OK button to save and finish the setup.
