Resources for Staffing Home Programs. This document provides tips for finding instructors.
You and your instructors can receive direct and on-going training in ABA techniques from a qualified program consultant. This list will help you find one.
Websites that contain a lot of useful information about ABA/VB:
www.poac.net (click “Training” to download training handouts)
A number of other Yahoo groups exist for discussion of techniques, including
using a Verbal Behavior approach. Use Yahoo’s group search to find and sign up for one of these:
VerbalBehavior
Also, for local autism information beyond ABA, these groups are helpful:

Many of our members have found attending a training workshop
provided by board certified behavior analysts, particularly Dr. Vincent
Carbone, to be especially helpful in setting up our ABA/VB programs. These links may help you find such training:
www.establishingoperationsinc.com/workshops.aspx
If traveling to, or waiting for, workshops present a barrier to you, video training sessions are available for
purchase at:
www.abatoolchest.com
Two basic tools of an ABA/VB program are the Assessment of Basic Language and
Learning Skills (the ABLLS) and the manual Teaching Language to Children
with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities, both by Partington and
Sundberg. These can be purchased
at:
www.behavioranalysts.com (click
“Products”) or at Different
We hope these materials help you get started. To talk with someone with experience
creating an ABA/VB program supported by Baltimore County Public Schools, feel
free to contact us.
